Janssen Biologics B.V. is recruiting for a Logistics Engineer.

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Logistics Engineer to work in our central warehouse and distribution center. The Logistics Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials across the Janssen Biologics site. Working closely with multi-functional teams, the Logistics Engineer designs, develops, and implements logistics strategies and solutions to optimize the flow of products, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze Supply Chain: Conduct detailed analysis of the network, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution processes.
• Optimize Logistics Processes: Identify areas for improvement within the site and develop optimized logistics models and strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce lead time, and minimize costs.
• Transportation Planning: Plan and manage transportation activities, including route optimization, carrier selection, and mode of transportation (road, rail, sea, air) for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Warehouse Management: Design and implement efficient warehouse layouts, storage strategies, and material handling systems to improve inventory accuracy and optimize space utilization.
• Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control methods and policies to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and prevent stock outs.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Apply analytical tools to collect, analyze, and interpret logistics data, such as transportation costs, lead times, delivery performance, and supply chain KPIs. Prepare reports and present findings to management.
• Continuous Improvement: Continually evaluate and enhance logistics processes through the application of industry methodologies and emerging technologies.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, production, sales, and customer service, to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives and ensure flawless operations.

Kwalificaties

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to identify process gaps, streamline operations, and implement quality control measures.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficient in logistics modeling software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage numerous projects simultaneously, and quickly adapt to changing priorities.

Other:

• Proficient reading, writing and speaking in English.
• Good understanding of the Dutch language is preferred
• Lean certification is preferred
